Economy has Grown, but Still Room for Improvement
The Slovenian economy has greatly restructured over the past eight years. The local economy, which is still mainly driven by export, could increase by 2,5% to 3% in the future, provided there are no major shocks from the external environment, says the director of the Slovenian Institute of Macroeconomic
Analysis and Development. The largest contribution to the turnover increase came from manufacturing enterprises and value added came from trade enterprises. In 2016, the tourist accommodations recorded 15% more tourist overnight stays than in September 2015. Slovenia still faces challenges, as it has to improve productivity, adapt work processes, create a favorable business environment, invest in lifelong learning and consolidate the public finance.
